Ordering

Because Fine Point Press is a small studio doing custom work, our ordering process provides individual attention to our clients. It enables you, as the client, to communicate with us. We provide direct contact, personal and professional service; we welcome the opportunity to speak with you.

If you live in Washington DC, Northern Virginia or Maryland, we invite you to contact us and arrange for a consultation in the studio. If you are out of the area, we will work with you over the phone. We work with many clients 'at a distance.'

  • We can guide you to the paper, design and typeface that best suits the individual tone important to your Wedding Day. We can send samples of our work to give you the choice of papers, typefaces, hand coloring and the other elements used to create your unique invitation.
  • It is helpful to the design process to know the atmosphere you envision. Often clients discuss their event theme with us and may provide photos of the church or reception site, though certainly not necessary.
  • We can communicate through email and set up a telephone consultation. We will discuss your specific ideas and answer any questions you have about our pricing, products, services, and completion schedule.
  • In your message, if you prefer, leave a telephone number and we will call you. We also need to know your wedding date and your desired completion date for your mailing.
  • Know the approximate number of Invitations you wish to order. (Count couples, not number of guests.) You do not need to order in quantities of 25 with our stock papers.
  • Set a budget for your Wedding Stationery. If you are working with a specific amount, we can suggest options available to you in that price range.
  • To order, allow 10-12 weeks for the design process and completion. We limit the amount of work booked into our production schedule. (If our production and printing schedule allows, a rush order is possible for a 15% surcharge. You are welcome to inquire.) If there is an invitation design that you wish to order 'as pictured' in one of our design galleries, it can be ordered and delivered more quickly. We can take your order immediately, fill and ship sooner.
  • Our minimum order for the set of Invitations is $500.00.
  • To hold production space in our printing schedule, a deposit of $250.00 is required.
  • The final quantity, wording and details do not need to be determined until 2 weeks before we print.(We are happy to assist you with formatting the text.)
  • The remaining balance must be received 10 days prior to our shipping date. We accept checks and PayPal.
  • Our preferred shipping method is Fed Ex. or USPS. Packages are insured and must be signed for.
  • An important note: because of the nature of handset letterpress, we do not provide proofs. We do assume full responsibility for any printing error that deviates from the text you provide to us. Accurate, proofread text is your responsibility. Have someone else read it before you send it. Text must be in a typed format.
