antique letterpress printing - handmade & distinctive papers - custom wedding stationary

About Us

Fine Point Press is a small, women-owned company. We personally represent our line of Wedding Invitations and are responsible for all phases of production.

Teri Hunter

From the beginning, I have always asked myself, "Is it the product or the process that makes this so fullfilliing?" And I can't really say. But it has a power in my life that sends me to my typecases to set type and to the press to print - ending with the satisfaction of beautiful invitations pleasing to our clients.

For Teri Hunter, becoming a letterpress printer was the natural evolution after her formal study of art, working in etching and lithography. Years ago in California, after designing an original line of cards, she searched for a way to produce beautifully printed products. That desire led her to the artistry and craftsmanship of letterpress printing. The passion for letterpress led her to acquire the antique platen press and the cabinets of antique type; then to eventually relocate her entire studio from California to Annapolis, MD and to begin again. It is this kind of grit, determination and love for the work that led Teri into this unique invitation business. Immersing herself in her craft for the last 25 years she has continued to study and experiment. I say that Teri reminds me of a delightful artisan found on some tiny street in Florence, Italy working with a practiced eye for composition, balance, and beauty.

Roberta Earle

Roberta 'Boo' Earle is an invaluable and integral partner in Fine Point Press. For many years she lived in Europe; first being surrounded by the glorious art and architecture of Italy, and then, for several years in Germany. Throughout that time, her natural curosity and enthusiasm took her on travels to many European countries, giving her a wider scope of art and its relevance in our daily lives. Her studies of art, culture and history translates into our studio work. Boo's experience broadens the abilities we have at Fine Point to apply those timeless qualities to our invitations. Fine Point is graciously and generously blessed with her extraordinary artistic talents, kindness, energy, wit and wisdom - all of which ground our business in her good sense, yet allow us to fly with the real joy of having creative days in the studio.

The few good hands that help, are a gift to our days.
Evelyn

Evelyn, a special lady tends to the flower blooms for our botanical line of invitations and favors. She grows the plants, nutures them like children - then harvests and presses each one separately. They are perfection.

Juliska

On some of our busiest days it is our good fortune to have Juliska with us. We call her our 'Papersmith'; the handwork is perfection. Before coming to help with papermaking, folding inner envelopes and the various other time consuming details, our hectic production days were much longer. When she is here, we are brighteded with her gentle presence and helped immeasureably with her capable hands.

Jen

Jennifer is our Marketing Manager. Her boundless energy, quick mind and efficiency leaves us in her dust! Also, her technical knowledge of computer systems made her a natural choice to keep our computer humming along. We are so grateful for her generous energy.

Karen, our patient and lovely accountant...having her come to do our books is sweet relief...allowing us to try to keep up with Jennifer! We love our Wednesday mornings with her.
